Elmiron is a drug prescribed to treat interstitial cystitis, sometimes called Bladder Pain Syndrome. This condition mainly affects women, and it causes abdominal and pelvic pain. Recent studies have found that patients who were prescribed and used Elmiron for a significant time developed Pigmentary Maculopathy, an eye disorder that can lead to blindness. Early signs of Pigmentary Maculopathy include: difficulty reading, difficulty of eyes adjusting to darkness or seeing close objects, dimming of vision or blindness in spots or fields of vision.
If you or someone you know took Elmiron for interstitial cystitis and developed vision loss due to Pigmentary Maculopathy, please give us a call at 541-484-2434 or 800-783-2434 to discuss a potential claim.
