On August 12, 2020, Jennifer Middleton and Caitlin Mitchell, in cooperation with the ACLU of Oregon, filed a federal lawsuit under the Federal Tort Claims Act against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) on behalf of Isidro Andrade-Tafolla. Mr. Andrade-Tafolla, a Washington County resident and U.S. citizen, was racially profiled and unlawfully detained outside the Washington County Courthouse in September of 2017. The Complaint seeks damages for the humiliation, emotional distress, and psychological harm that ICE agents inflicted on Mr. Andrade-Tafolla and his wife.
