Roberta Fast and her daughter, Katrina Fast, have filed suit in U.S. District Court in Pendleton against the Baker School District. The complaint states that Baker High School volleyball coach Warren Wilson engaged in inappropriate conduct with Fast and other students, including excessive touching. When the Fasts reported his conduct, they were retaliated against by the school district, in violation of Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, and Oregon law. The lawsuit was filed by Jennifer Middleton of Johnson Johnson Lucas & Middleton. For more information about the lawsuit, see Baker City Herald, April 28, 2020.
