Our firm’s workers’ compensation attorney, Keith Semple, recently obtained a favorable ruling that ordered SAIF to pay workers’ comp benefits to our client, a traveling firefighter. The firefighter was walking back to his hotel from dinner when he was struck and badly injured by a hit and run driver.
SAIF claimed the firefighter was not on the job at the time, but Mr. Semple rightly persuaded the Judge the firefighter should be covered. “This claim should have never been denied, and the denial has made it extremely difficult for Mr. Houdeshell to obtain the medical care that could help him regain some quality of life for his remaining years. We are extremely pleased with the Judge’s decision, but we will be even more pleased when Mr. Houdeshell starts to recover the benefits he is entitled to after all he has lost,” Mr. Semple explained.
