In Major Win For Equal Pay, JJLM Wins Appeal For UO Professor Freyd At The 9thCircuit Court Of Appeals.
The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit reversed much of the lower court’s decision to dismiss Jennifer Freyd’s gender-based pay discrimination lawsuit against the University of Oregon. Professor Freyd’s appeal was supported by a group of 47 women’s and civil rights groups, including Equal Rights Advocates, the ACLU Women’s Rights Project, the National Women’s Law Center, and the American Association of University Professors. As a result of the Court’s ruling, Professor Freyd’s case may now proceed to trial. For more information on Professor Freyd’s work on sexual assault and institutional courage, see Project on Institutional Courage.Legal Briefs
