Photo of Jennifer FreydThe U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit reversed much of the lower court’s decision to dismiss Jennifer Freyd’s gender-based pay discrimination lawsuit against the University of Oregon. Professor Freyd’s appeal was supported by a group of 47 women’s and civil rights groups, including Equal Rights Advocates, the ACLU Women’s Rights Project, the National Women’s Law Center, and the American Association of University Professors. As a result of the Court’s ruling, Professor Freyd’s case may now proceed to trial.
